well turned our furnace on to make sure it works etc...seems to be fine, though could do without the smell of burning dust when it first came on (cant clean the dust out of everywhere ya'know).

Ya I know that smell. I'm in the same boat but I'd rather have that smell and be warm than no smell and freezing to death!

yeah it only lasts a few cycles of the furnace...but it stinks!

though I still refuse to turn the fan in the bedroom off! (I like it...it has a sooooothing sound)

and the car has started to complain about the cold --our toyota HATES cold weather, when it gets below 40 she doesnt want to start, and wont rev down for a long time
almost time to change cars I guess (which means I really need to get the oil changed on the subaru as I was supposed to do that in march but the car has not gone far from the garage since then).

oy fall is really here...cant deny it anylonger.

o.O Why is the furnace and the subaru linking me to ads? That is very strange... My ad block must be messed up or something... Not cool.

I love having the fan on at night. I like the sound, so I totally understand!

My Toyota doesn't like to rev down when it is cold. Must be a Toyota thing. Not car breaking but still not cool.

no idea about the links (I pulled up this thread in chrome which I dont have all my bells and whistles and no links)...though I would mention it to Kvinna...could be another issue like we had last month.
I dont seem to remember my car doing that when she was younger (she is 15 now), its only been the last bunch of years--but yeah not cool (hubby complains about it). Though the other car (no link ) is also starting to complain about the cold which is REALLY not cool since its the cold weather car!! though they both like to complain about our dumb inclined driveway (couldnt make it level, no, that would be toooo easy).
I really do hate this condo some days. (especially the days I get the electric bills---).

gonna have to wean off the fan...will take a few sleepless nights (days) to accomplish though (I really do sleep better with it on )
and the last gasp of my cold refuses to let go--dang cough!

Now my post is doing it as well. o.O What in the heck... I don't know.

I have no other car so I can't say anything about another one. Unless you include my fiancee's car. And neither of our cars are cold weather cars.

I just point my fan away from me and it's all good.

dang time is going by quickly this fall...already 2 weeks of october gone...and here I was thinking yesterday was like, the middle of september!

cant really point my fan anywhere else in my room...(very small room...) but its supposed to be NORMAL this week not used to fall--I have no clothing to wear for this weather...am sooo used to it either being hotter than hades or cold as siberia that I have nothing in between to wear! (or raining too). I might have to go ....CLOTHING shopping! (actually NOT one of my favorite activities for multiple reasons). or I could just not go anywhere for the next month

Thank goodness. I'm glad it is going quickly. I'm ready for Thanksgiving. Soooo ready for it.

Ya it is supposed to be in the 60's and 70's this week. Should be pretty nice really. Is raining today and supposed to rain tomorrow a bit as well. But at least it isn't freezing out.

actually thinking of traveling on turkey day...dont usually want to, but it would only be driving and we could leave during the day to avoid too much traffic.

Going back up to the fiancee's for turkey day from what I understand. Last year when I went up with her was when I asked her parents permission to marry her. How time flys!

This will be the wife and my 18th Thanksgiving as a married couple. Dinner at my mom's, supper at her mom's. Our first Thanksgiving meal was in Louisville, Kentucky at KFC on our way home from our honeymoon in Nashville.

Sever storms floating through the area tonight. They are not ruling out a possible tornado. Really? In October, possible tornado? Keeping eye on weather and the game.

I think the first time I went to her place for Thanksgiving was 2 or 3 years ago. She has been to my parent's for Easter a couple of times now.

We had some "severe" storms earlier. They really weren't all that bad. Might have more in the area tomorrow as well.

since my other and I lived together before we tied the knot....dont think we went to others family's turkey days for many many years--could be the first dozen or so we lived 30 hours by car away and didnt go anywhere for the holidays (though my sister did visit one year)....so this will be our....26th? holiday season together...dang more than a quarter of a century...and next year we get to do the 20 year anniversary (next week is our 19th)...I really cant believe it has been THAT many years

though I would much rather be the one to make turkey since most people think they have to cook it to death and thus it is very very very dry. (kinda like pork...which is always dry). and by making it for just the 2 of us I can make the sides WE like and not have to fiddle with yams and green beans and such....and I can decide when it gets made...if I feel like napping...then dinner will be AFTER my nap

but I think this year, being out of town will be a nice change (can always make turkey when we get back ...its pretty dang easy and the few sides we have dont take all that long either)...though wont miss making a pie--getting kind of tired of the few flavors we both like.

yeah storms....had some earlier...and then the temps were pretty warm too. (cant really go below the dew point!)

I can honestly say, I haven't been with my fiancee for near that long.

Me love turkey. Me do. Me really looooove turkey. Nom nom turkey... Now me want turkey... I kinda wish I was spending it at my parents though. Cause there it was we had food at my parents, stuff our faces, watch football, then stuff our faces some more before calling it a night and watching more football. At the fiancee's it's more of a family event. Like lets all get together and chat and never watch football but chat a lot... I like football...

Still fairly warm here. Getting a little more rain atm.

me love turkey too...of the things I could not get while I lived in japan, it was number 1 and when I came home for visits, I made it myself (you can get nice birds without the wings and legs that cook pretty dang quick), I also ate sandwiches while I was home...when I came home for good, I think I made turkey every month for about 5 or 6 months!
have had turkey day with both sides of hubby's family...but usually his dad has wifes family (of more than 40 people) there as well--too many people for us, so we usually leave pretty fast after dinner....his mom doesnt make turkey but chicken (and one that makes me ill) so we dont eat there either.
my family didnt really do much either, brother had it a few times, but since we are spread out around the country, kinda hard to get together.
yeah still nice out...not going to complain about the weather!

Turkey is just awesome. Too bad it is usually reserved for only special holidays or get-togethers. And the lunch meat turkey just isn't the same.

Your mom makes chicken instead of turkey?!?! Why? Turkey is so so awesome! Should always have turkey.

not MY mom...his...my mom had 6 kids and made a HUGE bird when I was younger. His...well, not such a good cook and turkey takes 'too much time' so she does chicken (YUK!) instead (last time I ate it I was sick from it too)...so we dont do turkey day with them unless I make the food (yeah, I will come to YOUR house and cook a meal for you when I am YOUR GUEST...)....
I love turkey, I can get the turkey tenderloins at the grocery store and they cook up nicely and pretty quickly and very tasty! (I like turkey lunch meat too ).
Turkey is available all year round so it need not be just for holidays! (though I havent gotten into the turkey on the grill---), just need a good grocery store that carries it (or one you are willing to travel to to obtain it). I have some in my freezer right now...I even have some ground turkey for chili too!

Well I just found out that I am going to be an uncle for a 4th time! My older sister is pregnant with her 4th child. o.O
